The Work and Words of Khalik Allah
by Erik Luers on October 7, 2015 in Film Videos and Podcasts
Photographer and filmmaker Khalik Allah’s astonishing documentary Field Niggas kicks off IFP Screen Forward’s fall programming at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP, opening for a week-long theatrical run beginning Friday, October 16th. If you’re not familiar with Allah’s prominent work (the subject of a New York Times profile earlier this year), we’re here to draw attention to it, and, thanks to the copious amount of material fully available online, that’s a rather simple but joyous task. A 25 New Face of Independent Film, Allah will be in person for many screenings during Field Niggas theatrical run, so be sure to purchase your tickets and stop in and meet the artist.
