- Active The Gotham Membership at any membership level: get started by joining The Gotham now.
- Submit an online application form;
- $50 entry fee paid online by credit card;
- Password-protected link of rough cut or rough assembly;
Selection Process
- Project selection based on quality of the work and ability to benefit from the Lab’s curriculum and mentorship.
- All submissions are confidential and only viewed by The Gotham’s senior programming team and screening committee.
- Final selection is determined by The Gotham senior programmers.
- At no time are films screened for buyers or sales agents during the submission or acceptance process.
General Information
- Free of charge to those invited to participate, but all Lab attendees must be The Gotham members.
- Selected projects must participate in all three sections of the program.
- Applications are not accepted for individual sessions of the Labs.
- Filmmakers are responsible for their own travel and accommodations.
- As of January 2021, this year’s Fiction Feature Lab is set to take place virtually until further notice.
- Each project is entitled to have up to three members of its team participate in the Labs. This typically includes the director and producer, plus the editor or some other key creative
Confidentiality
Filmmaker Labs project submissions are evaluated only by the Gotham Filmmaker Labs screening committee. Project selection based on quality of the work and ability to benefit from the Lab’s curriculum and mentorship. Projects are not made available to anyone outside the committee.
Acknowledgement of Receipt
Shortly after submitting your online Application Form, you will receive an email notification acknowledging that your form and screenplay have been received.
Acceptance Notification
For the Fiction Feature Lab, up to ten films will be selected. All submissions will be notified of their status approximately one month prior to the first module of the Lab. Preliminary calls from the Gotham concerning your entry do not indicate acceptance.
