Made in NY Media Center by IFP Announces Advisory Board

November 20, 2014 (Brooklyn, NY)—The Made in NY Media Center by IFP today announced its Advisory Board, composed of leading venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, media executives, technologists, and artists, reflecting the Center’s cross-platform and cross-industry ethos. Led by Advisory Board Chairman Jon Miller, members will provide insights and strategic vision to the Center as it expands in its second year.

Since opening one year ago, the Center has held more than 100 classes and 300 events serving 25,000 people in classrooms, the media gallery, theater, café, incubator and community member spaces. It held its second and highly successful Demo Day, where select member companies presented their work incubating at the Center to a curated audience of venture capitalists, brand experts and media. The standing room only presentations were followed by the Center’s Marketplace where an additional 30 member’s showcased their companies and projects to more than 200attendees.

“As we embark on our second year, we are excited to have these esteemed luminaries on our Advisory Board” said Joana Vicente, Executive Director, IFP and the Made in NY Media Center. “Their insights, expertise and passion for what we are doing at the intersection of story and tech will ensure the Media Center is a beacon for the next generation of media makers and entrepreneurs in New York City.”
