The 2025 Gotham Week Project Market is a meetings-driven forum connecting new fiction and documentary projects in development with key industry executives interested in identifying projects for development, financing, or distribution. The Project Market is the longest-running event of its kind in the United States.
In addition to opportunities for feedback and pitching, artists who participate in the Project Market often walk away with career-spanning relationships with distributors, financiers, production companies, festival programmers, sales and talent agents, collaborators, and others. These invaluable connections continue well beyond the confines of Gotham Week.
Past industry participants have included A24, HBO, IFC Films, Neon, Sony Pictures Classics, MUBI, Topic Studios, Sundance Institute, WME, SFFilm, SXSW, Tribeca, Hot Docs, and many more.
Recent Project Market alumni include Sean Wang’s Dìdi (弟弟) (Focus Features), Raven Jackson’s All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt (A24), Tayarisha Poe’s Selah and the Spades (Amazon), Jessica Kingdon’s Ascension (MTV Documentary Films), Nikyatu Jusu’s Nanny (Amazon), Laurel Parmet’s The Starling Girl (Bleecker Street), Michael Dweck & Gregory Kershaw’s The Truffle Hunters (Sony Pictures Classics), and Rachel Lears’ Knock Down the House (Netflix).

INVITATION-ONLY Sections
This year’s Gotham Week Project Market included two invitation-only sections
The Series Creators to Watch section of the Project Market highlights rising voices that will shape the future of television and push the boundaries of serialized fiction storytelling. Made possible thanks to The Gotham’s organizational partners and Gotham Alumni, this section of the Project Market will provide access to industry and opportunities for representation for writers and creators who have innovative vision and bold, risk-taking new series in development.
The Gotham’s Global Producers Hub
The Global Producers Hub section of the Project Market presents a cohort of US and International producers from countries around the globe, made possible thanks to The Gotham’s International year-round partnerships and activations. This section of Gotham Week will present a slate of projects to the film and media industry while also providing an international peer-to-peer network for producers to make connections and share resources.
