There is no Expo Showcase this year, but we wanted to promote Expanding Communities partners programs. Using this tool, filmmakers can filter by program type, filmmaker type, and more to find resources that suit them best.
Soho Works
In partnership with Soho Works, we are excited to extend a complimentary day pass to any Soho Works New York location. Soho Works is an international network of coworking spaces by Soho House, equipped with all the tools, tech and resources to help creative thinkers and businesses connect, collaborate, and grow. DISCUSSION GUIDELINES
- Take Space: Don’t be afraid to speak up! However, if sharing with a group is difficult for you, you can submit written comments via online form. If you have a disability and a group adjustment would help you participate, please inform your group facilitator.
- Make Space: Be mindful of how much time you’re taking up. This is a collaborative discussion, and we want as many film and media creators as possible to participate.
- Create a Culture of Respect and Inquiry: Please be respectful when offering suggestions or feedback. Some of the folks who run the filmmaker programs are in the room! You should still be honest, but keep in mind the goal of finding solutions, together.
- It is natural to disagree during a discussion, and even disagree with organizations and their strategies. Again, please keep the discussion constructive and respectful.
- Avoid assumptions about any member of the discussion or generalizations about social
- groups. Do not ask individuals to speak for their (perceived) social group. Do not invalidate anyone’s experience.
- Focus: Please stay on topic! There are many challenges filmmakers face, and we can’t possibly address them all in one session. If you are interested in discussing festivals, consider attending the Film Festival Alliance Listening Session tomorrow at 1pm.
- Keep the Discussion Going!: Feel free to keep discussing during the Happy Hour following, and sign up to receive a Findings Summary from this event.
