Submissions Now Open for Second Annual Gotham Television Awards

Kickoff to the Television Awards Season to Take Place Monday, June 2nd in New York City
New York, NY (February 18, 2025) – The Gotham Film & Media Institute has officially opened submissions for the Second Annual Gotham Television Awards. The deadline for submissions is March 24th for the following competition categories:
- Breakthrough Comedy Series
- Breakthrough Drama Series
- Breakthrough Limited Series
- Breakthrough Nonfiction Series
- Outstanding Lead Performance in a Comedy Series
- Outstanding Lead Performance in a Drama Series
- Outstanding Lead Performance in a Limited Series
- Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Comedy Series
- Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Drama Series
- Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Limited Series
- Outstanding Original Film, Broadcast or Streaming
- Outstanding Performance in an Original Film
“For the Second Annual Gotham Television Awards, we are thrilled to continue building on the incredible success of last year’s inaugural event,” said Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham Film & Media Institute. “The response from both the industry and audiences was overwhelming, and we look forward to honoring even more groundbreaking television series and performances in 2025.”
The Gotham Television Awards nominations will be selected by committees of critics, journalists, programmers, and curators. Separate juries of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and others directly involved in the making of television and film will determine the final award recipients.
Online applications, along with full criteria, can be found at tvawards.thegotham.org. Nominees will be announced on Tuesday, April 29th, and winners will be honored at the awards ceremony in New York City on Monday, June 2nd.
During last year’s Inaugural Gotham Television Awards, which took place at Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York City, Baby Reindeer kicked off its massive awards season run by winning Breakthrough Limited Series, Andrew Scott took home Outstanding Performance in a Limited Series award for his performance in Ripley, and Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith was awarded Breakthrough Drama Series. The Gotham also presented Mariska Hargitay with the Anniversary Tribute for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Peter Morgan with the Creator Tribute for The Crown, and Lulu Wang with the Spotlight Tribute for Expats.
