Announcing IFP South Africa Trade Mission 18-23 July 2018

IFP is pleased to partner with NFVF South Africa and The Department of Trade and Industry to invite prominent film, television, documentary and animation directors, producers and industry executives to apply for the planned Inward Investment Mission to South Africa July 18th to 23rd 2018.
Aimed at promoting collaborations in animated series, feature films, documentaries and television series, the Inward Investment Mission will also promote South Africa’s film industry landscape and showcase film content, infrastructure, talent and vast shooting locations to international producers. The trade mission is part of the The Department of Trade and Industry’s objective to promote South Africa’s Film service offerings, attracting coproduction/collaborative opportunities in order to grow the sector between the U.S. and South Africa.
The mission will go to Johannesburg and Cape Town and will also afford approved creatives, producers and execs the opportunity to participate during the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) 2018, acquire content, meet potential partners for future projects, and scout shooting locations throughout the cities.
An invitation to apply is extended to Film & TV Producers, Production and Broadcasting Houses, Animation Studios and Houses, Acquisition and Distribution companies who are:
• Experienced creatives and producers who have a proven track record for developing and producing 3-5 theatrically released feature films, animation, television fiction and/or non-fiction.
• Sales and distribution execs that have acquired and sold more 3-5 theatrical feature films, television fiction and/or non-fiction, +5 short films and/or commercials in the past two years;
Assistance is provided to qualifying U.S. creatives/producers/execs who have projects for the South African market or business/co-production opportunities with:
• Economy Class airfare, including all domestic air travel in South Africa. Approved participants can upgrade to business and first class at their own expense.
• Hotel Accommodation that includes dinner, bed and breakfast. Excluding alcoholic beverages.
• Ground transport for the duration of the mission program.
Application includes a one-page cover letter briefly stating your bio/qualifications, as well as details about current projects or business opportunities you think are ripe for South African collaboration.
