Filmmaker Conference 2007 – A Conversation With…Jon Kilik
Over the past 20 years, Jon Kilik has developed into one of the most prolific independent producers working today. He is truly independent – without an overall deal, an agent, a lawyer or even an assistant, he has produced 12 of Spike Lee’s projects, as well as gone “three for three” with a film in competition at Cannes for the last three years (including Jim Jarmush’s Broken Flowers, 2007 Oscar-win with Babel, and Julian Schnabel’s 2007 Cannes favorite The Diving Bell and the Butterfly). Jon will share his insights on the current deal-making landscape, as well as his experiences on what it takes to produce a successful independent film.
