Health & Safety Protocol

Health, Safety & Responsibility

With ongoing public health emergencies, The Gotham will ensure this page is updated regularly with the latest local information and resources about COVID-19 coronavirus as it affects the Yard, in addition to any other ongoing health emergencies. For questions or concerns regarding public health-related changes to the Yard, email [email protected] or [email protected]

The Gotham is prepared to manage our events with the health, safety, and well-being of our attendees, staff, presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, and speakers in mind. All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, Gotham staff, service providers, and others are expected to abide by our code of conduct and all policies in effect for any event coordinated by The Gotham.

We will continue to monitor and update safety precautions for all of our conferences regularly and coordinate with trusted national resources, state and local public health agencies, and the hotels/venues hosting our events.

In all cases, we will continue to assess the risks in the area local to the event and the current status in the United States. In keeping with The Gotham’s duty of care and the responsibility as host, The Gotham has implemented safety requirements for many of our place-based convenings.

We reserve the right to modify these policies and procedures at any time given the rapidly changing nature of any current and ongoing public health emergencies.

COVID-19 Event Safety

The Gotham remains committed to the safety and well-being of all our participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and Gotham Week staff, and throughout the course of the pandemic we have invested heavily in ensuring that our guests can return to in-person gatherings with confidence. To reduce the risk you assume by entering this public space and to ensure your safety and the safety of others, all of our guests are expected to abide by our code of conduct and all policies in effect for the events.

Common Areas & Spacing within the Navy Yard

In compliance with the operational guidance set by the Yard:

  • Face Coverings: Guidance on mask utilization and social distancing continues to evolve as case counts continue to fall and vaccination rates continue to increase. Effective immediately we will no longer require the use of masks or social distancing on our docks or in any other outdoor area of the Yard. We will, however, continue to require all tenants and visitors to wear masks while in common areas of our buildings.

We will continue to monitor and update safety precautions for The Gotham Week regularly and coordinate with trusted national resources, state and local public health agencies, and the hotels/venues hosting the event.

We will continue to assess the risks in the area local to the event and the current status in the United States. And in keeping with The Gotham’s duty of care and the responsibility as host, we have implemented safety requirements for Gotham Week 2022.

As of August 9, 2022, we have updated our policies to the below and we reserve the right to modify these policies and procedures at any time given the rapidly changing nature of the current global pandemic.

COVID-19 Vaccination & Testing

In keeping with The Gotham’s duty to care and responsibility as host, The Gotham requires all participants at the in-person 2022 Gotham Week, whether a presenter, attendee, exhibitor, staff, guest, or vendor to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. The CDC updated their website to define the status of “Fully Vaccinated” and “Up To Date”.

  • Fully Vaccinated” means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized (or emergency use authorized) double-dozed vaccines or single-dose vaccine.
  • Up to Date” means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.

FOR CONFERENCE ATTENDEES:

  • We are asking you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to attending Gotham Week.

FOR PROJECT MARKET / INDUSTRY ATTENDEES:

  • We are asking you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and to submit a negative rapid antigen or PCR test within 48 hours of your scheduled arrival. Results from rapid at-home tests are acceptable and copies of results and vaccination status can be submitted digitally prior to attending.

We strongly encourage all attendees who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 Booster in addition to being fully vaccinated. The Gotham is following the CDC definition of fully vaccinated for vaccination requirement for the event, but we encourage individuals who are eligible to receive the booster prior to attending the event.

The Gotham strongly encourages individuals to be tested for COVID prior to traveling to any Gotham Week event. Individuals who test positive should stay home and cancel your registration.
